A member of the Feldgendarmerie serving with the Afrika Korps during World War II. Often referred to as the Kettenhunde (English: chained dogs) for the distinctive gorget worn around the neck, Feldgendarmerie troops were responsible for military policing duties such as traffic control, security, and maintaining discipline among frontline units.
